“State of the Art Concrete Construction”

State of the Art Construction in Southern California

COVI CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION, INC. is proud to be celebrating its 38th year in business. Paul “Covi” Bissin, President, has built his concrete contracting business on some basic management principles. We attribute our success on two basic principles: First, treat workers and clients in the same way you want to be treated and be prepared to work hard. Second, we have been known to tackle tough jobs. While there has been risk, there has been an opportunity to build a good reputation and COVI has earned loyalty and referrals in a very competitive market.

COVI CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION, INC. has enjoyed an outstanding growth pattern in the merit shop environment. Our job sizes vary from $500,000.00 to 10,000,000.00. Our reputation in the Southern California market is such that 100% of our business comes from repeat customer satisfaction and referrals.

We are prepared to do all kinds of concrete forming, placing and finishing work, tilt-up construction, and we are specialized in the design and construction of multi-level parking structures and office buildings, most of which involve post-tension technology. Recently COVI incorporated a masonry division and now as a result we have better control over the quality and scheduling of the work in our projects.
The Company's workforce varies from 80-200. Our in-house staff currently numbers 6.

Our Management team includes Paul C. Bissin, President who actively participates in the day-to-day operations of the Company. He is responsible for the decision to bid, is actively involved in the bidding process, contract negotiations, and contract administration.

Robert Pipkin, Construction Manager has been with COVI for 11 years. He has over 40 years of experience in the business. Mr. Pipkin holds a General Contractors license and is a seasoned construction manager. As Construction Manager, he is responsible for the awarding of subcontracts, change orders, RFI's, operations as it pertains to the construction schedule, and job costing.

Jeff St. Clair, General Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day operations. Jeff has come up through the ranks, first as a carpenter, then Lead man, to Foreman and now General Superintendent. He has been with COVI for 30 years and is a prime example of our merit shop in progress. He manages the field personnel, including training, jobsite safety, and truck maintenance. He is the key player for COVI in terms of field management.

Lyn Ostensen, Superintendent comes to us with 30 years of experience in construction. He managed the construction of some high profile projects for KOLL Construction such as Taco Bell Corporate Headquarters Irvine, Tustin Marketplace Phase II Irvine, Marriott Brighton Gardens, Carlsbad, Del Mar Heights, San Juan Capistrano, Global Data Center, Anaheim and the San Bernardino Law Library to name a few. He has extensive concrete experience. and strives to make all projects “win-win” for Owners, Developers, and Subcontractor communities. Presently he is doing estimating full time and is our in house scheduler.
